The Percuil River is a beautiful wildlife haven, governed by the twice-daily ebb and flow tides. All the mud exposed
at low water provides rich feeding for shorebirds - look out especially for herons fishing at the water's
edge and for cormorants (when the tide is in!). For those wishing to venture onto the water, there is a 5 knot speed limit in force within the Percuil River
and St. Mawes harbour to enable your peace and tranquillity to be maintained.
Cuilan is situated overlooking the Percuil River in what can only be described as one of the most idyllic spots on the Roseland.
